Question on Elmiron Assistance

Hi,
My hubby us newly diagnosed with IC. He is in great pain most of the time and the doctor wants to wait for 6 months before starting medication. He goes back to the doctor next month and hopefully he will perscribe Elmiron. My question is, Has anyone used the Assistance Program to get Elmiron? We do not have medical coverage and have 3 kids at home. Hubby is the sole provider for the family, so we don't have alot of income coming in. Any advise would help us out. I know that Elmiron is expensive and I don't think that we could afford to buy it right out.

My uro had one of his nurses give me paperwork to fill out and send back to them with a copy of last years tax return. Then the uro was going to send it in for me. I'd call your uro's office and see if they have this program. It was going to be so simple for me. We ended up not doing it cause we knew hubby made to much money. And it's only us and one child at home.
It sure doesn't hurt to ask!
