I have had IC now for about two months and have been trying Cystropak and Utira-C. Since then, I've had Ok days and rough days. I had about a week where I felt pretty good after using dramamine on a cruise. Unsure if that helped or it was just a blessing.

I recently had a saline uterine ultrasound and three polyps and maybe a thick endometrial lining was diagnosed after having some mid-cycle bleeding. When I had the saline ultrasound, I felt worse with the IC the next day and several days after, but am back to square one now, a week later.

Next week, I am scheduled for a D and C with a hysteroscopy(camera and tool) as the polyps need to come out. If anyone has any advice about avoiding more issues, I would appreciate it?? I am concerned I will be worse afterwards. The doctor said if I void prior to surgery they may not have to use a catheter, but she will not be there to instruct them prior. THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the kind information and encouragement you have given me.

Currently taking: Cystropak X2...baclofen 2.5 mg daily...doxepin 10 mg..utira-C as needed and various vitamins and supplements I was taking prior to IC.

:hi: welcome!
I haven't had any of these procedures, so I can't advise you on really anything as to what they would entail and what would be helpful...
I do know that if I have to be cathertized, then I do MUCH better with a smaller size non latex catheter...I'm non allergic to latex, but very sensitive to it down there.
The only under anesthesia surgeries I've had are a cysto/hydro and a laparoscopy in the pelvic area to rule out endo, when I was in the IC Dx process. For both, I was catherized, thank goodness, because it was so dang hard to pee afterwards. Actually, I wish I could've stayed cathed and in recovery longer!
So I know that's not much help at all, I'm sure others will chime in who have had experience with the procedure you're having.
Sorry about the IC dx...I hope what your taking right now helps you...if not don't hesitate to research and ask for other meds that can help your IC symptoms...there are many and most of us get to a point where everything is quite manageable w/ time, adequate treatment, good doctors! Also, drinking lots of water and following the IC diet are extremely important for the majority of us. The diet can take some time to help and figure out what your trigger foods are, but you do, it can bring a lot of relief. Some patients are able to maintain on IC diet alone. I am now in remission for 5 months and the diet and lots of water are the only things I still use to stay feeling well:)
Best wishes :)

Oh, I just re-read your post and saw you are still taking the same vitamins and supplements as you did before IC...many IC patients here report that these cause them bladder symptoms. I know they do for me if I take them all at the same time after a meal, like I normally would b/f IC.
I learned recently I can take them all if I spread them out throughout the day by taking just one of each after a meal without causing me symptoms...so if you haven't done any trial and error investigation with them, you might want to see by just taking one vitamin a day to see if you react to it. That's how I determined I could take all of mine and tolerate them. Hope this helps:)
