You might want to talk with your doctor about this. There may be something he can suggest to help you.

Definitely talk with your doctor. It's never good to strain.

Don't strain. Also, the Senekot itself could be flaring your bladder. Try Miralax.

Hi there. I would talk with your doctor about this. I can't take senekot, it bothers my bladder. I personally like the mom pills, and ducolax stool softeners. But my doctor said it was ok for me to take that. I also used miralax in the past. Hope they can suggest something for you. :)

My stomach does not digest as quickly as it should, which means I am constipated all the time, if I don't take something. I spoke with my doctor. He prescribed Miralax (not sure of spelling). I know they sell this over the counter, but they do have one you can get a prescription for. I am not sure if the over the counter one works as well as mine does, never tried it. Mine is a powder that you put in a drink. I started with a small amount and just adjust my doses as I need it. It works great for me!! Maybe you could speak with your doctor about this. Hope this helps you:)

I have constipation as well, which at times becomes IBS. My doctor has me taking Dulcolax (or any generic) which she says isn't like xlax and others like that. For me, it definitely helps. Much more than any other over the counter choices. I was on Zelnorm for quite a while when I was in an IBS flare and that worked too. As of yesterday I am taking 3 Dulcolax/day until I feel better. But it already worked so I'm not taking any today!

It's over the counter and my doctor says no more than 3 a day, but she also explained why it's much better than xlax and others like that (which I wish I remembered!) Can't hurt to try it if you can't get to the doctor soon enough.

I do agree you should talk to your Dr. I find for the most part the meds that make you go don't agree with me or my IC. I have heard good things about Miralax, freinds have had their kids on it when trying potty train. I tried just adding more fiber to my diet, and water, but what ended up working best for me is to take a bulk forming agent eg. metamucil, benefiber etc. It has not caused me any IC syptoms and once I found the right dose for me it has helpped with the pelvis pain.

There are 2 kinds of ducolax, one is a stool softener, thats the one it says on the bottle can be taken up to 3 times a day, one is a stimulant, that is rather harsh and can irritate things. Just wanted to let you know so if you go buy them, you are aware of the different kinds. :)
