I have been having horrible pelvic and ovary pain for about 3 months now. My urogyno suggested I have laparoscopic surgery to make sure there was nothing else going on besides the IC. Other than a few lesions on my uterus, he didn't find anything else. I go back for my post-op next Wed. and he'll go over my lab results with me. I am at the point where I just want my ovaries out but I'm so afraid since he doesn't really see anything wrong, that I'll still have the pain. Has anyone had a partial hysterectomy and had any type of relief from pain?

This isnt my personal experience but Ive read things about ovary pain on the internet . I have alot of pelvic / ovary pain too . Some people who have ovary pain do experience relief after they are removed because sometimes there can be scar tissue on or in the ovary . I get tons of cysts in and on my ovaries and also had several surgeries around there too , so I assume thats where some of my pain comes from .... Im considering to have a hysto myself between that and other female issues . Talk to your doc and see what they think ?? They might not do it , considering its a pretty major procedure and/or they may tell you to wait a bit because you just had surgery down there , but its worth a try . I wish you luck and hope you start feeling better !!!

It's not sharp horrible pain but it hurts in the area of my ovaries. The surgeon was willing to take them out but I wanted to get another opinion where I didn't have any cysts or anything. I am 46 so it's not like I am having any more children but I may not go through menapause for another 4-6 years...

I have pain i my ovary area all the time and when I was 33 my gynecologist did a partial hysterctomy but left the ovaries in and it didn't help with the pain 2 years later I had to have my right ovary removed because of pain and I still have the pain, nothing is taking the pain away. I have one ovary and seem to be alright with that most of my pain is on the right side. I hope this is helpful.
