I have just ended week 3 of the permanent implant for Interstim. I changed uro's becuase the one I was seeing wasn't exactly nice or supportive. So the new one has been very nice. However last week she took off my tape and sterile strips. She said that I can now take a bath and pick up my daughter. However I noticed when I was taking a bath last night that the stitches are coming out!!!!! I called her office this moring early and they said to call and schedule and appt with her right away. I have been soo quesy and shakey and achy the last few days. not sure if my IC is acting up or if I have an infection of some kind. Anyone else with these kinds of problems?

Follow up with your doc. It might not be related at all to the interstim but you should follow up with the doc about the stitches and it doesn't hurt to ask questions,

I just saw the dr and I might have a bladder infection. The stitches are suppose to do what they did and she said that everything looks fine. She is convinced that its my pelvic floor

Just worried that its the IC and not a infection. My dr is big on PT and not on instills. So I am scared right now

I have done physical therapy and the installs. I found that the PT helped the pelvic pain. I had PT a year ago and have not had much problems since then. At the end of my therapy my PT taught me how to do it my self. I am still getting a mo. install and it really helps. Don't be scared. Try either one and see what works for you. They both can hurt at first but do get better.

My doc doesn't really want to do the instills because she firmly believes that because my pelvic floor is so bad that its what is causing my issues. So I am at a loss

If it is Pelvic Floor then I would say go for Physical Therapy and see if that helps. It sure did me.

This will be my second week of PT. I am nervous and very skeptical. Nothing else has really worked in the past so I am worried this isn't going to work. How long did it take for you to feel the effects from it?

Don't be nervous and worry because that will cause you problems. It will take a while before you feel the effects of the PT. It will get better but you need to be patient. If you have more guestions and you want to private message me you can. I want to see it work for you.

How do I private message you? Today has been one of the worst days I have had in a long time. The uro thinks its because of my pelvic floor. FREAKING OUT

The stitches normally are the disolving kind. That's how mine were. I had DMSO long before I sought treatment from Dr. Doggweiler, so when I told her I was afraid of going through that again, she told me that she didn't do DMSO instills. I never asked her about regular instills mainly because we figured out that anytime I am cathed I would go into a flare. I had my PT prior to my interstim and there were some days that it was "scary" just the unknown, but I learned to relax and talk to the therapist. I don't have PFD, so I don't know what is involved with PT on PFD, but I know that my therapist worked really hard on learning to relax my muscles and to help me do deep breathing exercises to help me through the pain.
I hope this treatment works for you. When you get out of the bathtub, just make sure it's nice and dry. I used a white washcloth and watched for any infection or oozing for a few days.
