:welcome: When I am feeling very painful down there I sit in my rocking recliner slumping. Just sitting mostly on my tail bone that way. They do sell a seat pillow here for that problem. I haven't tried it but have read where many say it helps them out a lot. Have you tried lidocaine gel down there? That also helps me sometimes. It's like numbing a toothache type of thing you know?

I have two pillows from the ICN Shop --- one in the car and one inside the house. It really helps because it takes the pressure off the perineal area.

Hi Becky,
I had issues sitting too. I told the therapist that standing was better for me. I did my therapy on my back to take pressure off my seat. Also the special pillow helps. At the time that my seat hurts the worst I do a lot of laying down or sitting to the side(at home that is). Can you try warm or cold compresses. See which one works best for you, cold works for me.
Best Wishes,
Teela

See if your doctor will give you a prescription for lidocaine if you are not already using it. It helped me!

You can actually make the pillows to sit on. You just need foam and to cut out the area. Some doctors and PTs just recommend making your own but cutting a U shape out, which is a slightly different design. I know have you feel with the pain when sitting. I struggled for a long time not being able to sit or stand for very long. At work I would sit on the pillow but at an angle and with my feet propped up. I also use a heating pad when it is that bad. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I also get into the bad habit of sitting slumped down on my tailbone or with one foot under me ...I have one of the cushions from the IC shop, tho I can see that they could be made easily at home from foam...I put a nice pillowcase over it so at work it doesn't look like a special cushion and it works well. I also have several soft down pillows around the house that are great for sitting on. Also Rx lidocaine gel and lidocaine patches give great relief when I have to sit for long periods of time.

Hi to all you lovely ladies, thanks for all the advice & tips :smile tee it's all very much appreciated! This is all quite new to me so I need all the help I can get! I seem to get more advice from you ladies than from doctors etc!!! Nice to speak to someone who knows what it's like! Just a shame we're all suffering or have suffered! I'm just curious as to whether any of you have recovered in time? If not recovered do you have your DAYS where you can sit comfortable???? I had an acupuncture session on FRIDAY 13TH AHHHHH for the vulva pain I'm getting, has anyone tried this & had a positive result? Let me know what you think!??!
Big hugs
xx
