I have AETNA, can someone help me with ideas as how I can try to have the Botox payed? The insurance sent me a letter telling that they don't pay experimental procedures...

It is all in the coding. It needs to be coded for urgency, frequency, incontinence, and spasticity.

Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield paid mine.

Also, keep on appealing.

Yes, it's all in the coding. New West paid for mine. I had called in advance and they said they wouldn't pay. Then this check arrived. Needless to say I was ecstatic and I certainly didn't question it! I paid almost nothing out of pocket. Just wish I would have been one of the lucky ones and gotten some results from it.

I have AETNA and have had Botox three times. AETNA paid everytime. In fact, my insurance company was the first to pay for Botox in in my uro's office. Now it seems most insurance companies do pay. I guess it does depend on how it is coded.
