discouraged!

hi everyone...i'm not sure why exactly but have been feeling very discouraged the last few days and just am feeling so sorry for myself. i know that you all have a shoulder i can cry on and just whine to :( i've been taking DH aloe and cystoprotek for about 3 months now (i don't remember exactly but right around there) i have found some releif....i rarely have pain anymore but the feeling like i have to pee all the time and the pressure are stretching me to my max!! i feel like if the cystoprotek doesn't work for me then there is no hope! and since i still don't feel good and its been the 3 months, that cytoprotek isn't working. i was so hopeful for the stories that i've read, that i would get to say i am symptom free like others have! and i can't and i'm just so discouraged! should i quit taking and i try something else? well, thank you all for listening!!! hugs to everyone!

:welcome: to the boards. you didn't say if you had IC or not, but I am guessing yes. Have you tried an medications prescribed by your doctor?

Don't worry about whining we all do a lot :grouphug: and feeling sorry for our selves is high up on the list too.:hi:

I think it would be a good idea for you to talk with your doctor about your symptoms. It could be that you need some sort of medication to help ease these problems.

You also have not said if you are on the IC Diet. You can find the link to it in my signature. Take a look at it. It might help you with your symptoms.

Have you tried ditropan yet? I took the generic of it, and it helped break that constant urge to pee feeling for me. I had to start with high doses (like 3 or 4 times a day) after about 2 weeks things started to calm down. I was eventually able to wean back to 1 a day, and now don't take it at all. I know how maddening that feeling is. I would pee every 10 minutes round the clock for days at a time. Sleep medications did not help either. I also take cystoprotek. You can take it at the same time you are on bladder meds (Although you should ask your doctor first). I found the aloe vera made me flare for some reason. Whenever I try it, my frequency goes way up and so does my burning. You may want to experiment and try not taking it for a few days to see if that helps. Hope this helps.

Hi, I am so sorry your not feeling well. Do you have a uro you can talk to about some other options for the pressure and feeling of having to go all the time? I never tried the meds you are on. I would talk to your doctor about it though and see what they suggest. I hope you feel better. :) Lisa

I also tried the aloe vera pills. It made me flare terrible with only a few pills. I sent them back for a refund. VIcky

:welcome: To the ICN Please do not get discouraged!! If one med fails try something else.. It took me awhile to find th eright combo of meds that helps me the most!
