is Macrobid ok when pregnant

Hi all,

I think I might be pregnant (not 100% sure though).. is macrobid ok to take during pregnancy.. I need it to prevent a bladder infection after sex with my hubby.. just wondering if it could hurt the baby...

Well first off.........congrats!!!!!(maybe)

I'm almost 6mths pregnant and just recently my IC has been giving me fits. About a month ago I had to take Macrobid which didn't work for me, so they switched it to Keflex. Just remember there's not alot of "safe" meds we can take while pregnant. So always check with your OB.

Hi!

I had to take macrobid every day of my pregnancy from about 1 month on. I also was able to take Trac 2X which helped in conjunction with the macrobid.

This was the only one recommended by my OB who has a lot of experience with IC. Of course talk to the dr but my little girl is only three so I don't think much has changed.
