heparin side effect?

took my normal irragation today heparin/ lido/bicarb and only could hold it for about 1.5 hrs. my anus hurts, my legs and now my back is hurting my bladder did burn for a bit but has now stopped i am so tired. I do understand that it could have irratated my bladder to an extent but i have been doing this now for a while like a month or so and never have i experienced this before. not time for my period not been on my feet excessively today etc... so i wonder if i am reaction to the heparin. anyone know the side effects?

I think it would be wise to check with your MD. I personally have never had the symptoms you had in connection with an instill. But any time I have an unexplained set of symptoms I want my MD to make the call.

Have you checked to be certain the heparin isn't one of the recalled ones?

I have mine done at a compounding pharmacy I don't make my own so I guess they would know if it was bad right? I called them and asked the person who made mine was out today so I am going to call back on monday and see. I am going to try it again today and see what happens or WOULD YOU? I am in pain and it feels like i have to go all the time. The pharm. said they used powered hep. so i pray it isn't bad b/c it was really helping me. thanks to everyone for the replies

If you don't know if the heparin was part of the recall or not, I'd wait & not do the instillation til you know... I'm sorry, I rely on them too, so I know this is not a great solution....

Have you been checked for infection? That's always a thought if symptoms spike, especially for those of us who do instillations - every time we use a catheter, there is a risk of infection.

There are UTI test kits at many local drugstores you could use at home this weekend or maybe urgent care since it's Saturday?
