Hey Lisa,
Curious - did you get extremely nautious when taking this med? I am so so very sick to my stomach and have a migraine coming on strong - and thats after one dose from last evening. Havent taken my dose this morning, still feel awful, had to take Dramamine to feel even half decent to drive this morning. Sitting here with sunglasses on in the dark just so I can type this to you.
OMG..please tell me this feeling passes if you or anyone else has had it? If not..I absolutely will not be able to take this med. Ugh. I tried eating something and even milk, no-go. I feel like I have the flu or something, and its definately not the flu. I felt okay before I took the Cymbalta. :( Damn...
Thanks
Brittany

Hi Brittany, oh no, yes that is a common side effects but it goes away after 2 weeks, that is the most common side effect, I didn't have it. I got a little nauseaous the one day and that was it, I did get a little headache the first day also but even that was not bad. My doc told me the nausea was the worst part and if I could get through the first 2 weeks, it usually goes away but I didn't have it! I am so sorry. See who else chimes in.

I also got a little nausea the first week of taking it.. I would always make sure I ate before I took it..I got over it after a week of taking it..

I remember you mentioned that Ronda. My doc did say if you can get through the first 2 weeks, your doing good, lol, He said it can really make you nauseous but it usually goes away.
Brittany, how are you feeling today? Did you end up taking it yesterday? I really hope your feeling better.

Yes, there is nausea. It's worst in the first week or 2. However, I find that even now (I've been on my current dose for ~3 months), I get nauseous if I let myself get too hungry. I've found that pepto bismol helps, if that's something you can handle.
Personally, I got through much of the adjustment stage by smoking weed. I am not recommending it because it's illegal in most/many places, but it really does wonders for nausea. It also restores the appetite, which is important for me because if I get nauseous, I don't want to eat anything, which only makes things worse because that's how I got nauseous in the first place. However, most of the time, I'm fine and I don't notice any other side effects. Good luck!

:( Unfortunately I cannot take Cymbalta - after 2 days of being on it (and after I posted my first post above) it triggered severe migraines and the nausea ended up being full blown throwing up for days on end, not to mention I ended up having trouble peeing. Yesterday was the first day I was actually able to get up and walk around without carrying a bag with me - and the last day I took Cymbalta was Friday. Takes forever to get out of your system I've discovered.
Called neuro today and told him its a no go. :( This is awful....I was so hopeful that this would work for the neuropathy. There is no other med I can take....I'm allergic to the others or have issues with them. Now I'm going to have to deal with the intense pain of peripheral neuropathy and nothing I can do about it.
This stinks....

Brittany, I am so sorry. :( I was hoping it would work for you. I am so sensitive to meds, but I took it just fine with no problems. I think I have a better tolerance for meds now then I ever did. Usually I get every side effect. I hope theres something else you can take to help.
