I would really, really love an apple pie. Is anyone ok with apples and apple pie? Also, does anyone have an apple pie or apple scrisp that doe not have butter in it or any dairy? I can use some margerin.

try using soy butter
I always use canola oil in place of butter. If the recipe calls for melted butter you can substitute 1:1. If it calls for solid butter, use 7/8ths as much.
Also, you normally use granny smith apples for pie, I believe. I would use a sweeter apple and maybe cut down on the liquid in the pie.

I do really well with most apple pies... so definitely give it a try. I like FEn's suggestion of using a sweeter apple, like Fuji or Gala, to make them!

I love apple pie. I usually buy Fuji apples when I buy them. We have a gravenstein tree that has a very mild apple that I can eat when they get ripe --- and they make really good pie.

I do well with apple pie- I have a receipe for apple pie that I make usually around the holidays - (my husband is diabetic) and gave me this along with other ones. I'm not much for cooking/baking but this turns out very well each time I make it.
I am okay with most apples too.. and as far as butter is concerned... I do fleishmans no salt added margarine.. dairy free.. love it.. and it works perfect

I am good with Fuji apples. APple pie normally does not seem to hurt me either, but I am an oddball.

I don't have any problems/flares when I eat apple pie, either.
