Well, guess will have to stay on this for good. :( Not happy about it but I just keep getting madder and madder about things and it gets to feeling like I will pass out or have a heart attack. Chest gets very tight and feels like I ran the marathon. Still can't get over the little fish dying because of me. Never will. Still cry over them too. Stupid huh? Just keep my fingers crossed the last two fish live. Maybe if I stick to the low fat diet right on the nose then I won't gain anymore weight and with time I will start losing again. Either way right now I have to take the cymbalta. What does that say about my life???

You taking cymbalta what does that say about your life? To me it means that you are getting help with your depression and taking medication to help you with your depression and blues. I find it a very wise decision to have made and pray as the days go by and the drug levels increase you feel better, the pain is better .......... YOU can tell a difference. You already did the hardest part agreeing and starting taking it. Keep going with it - give it a good try.

It says to me that you are wanting to feel better and be happier. That is a very good thing. (((Hugs)))

Mary, I found that once I was on the Cymbalta and learned to deal with things without crying all the time. I was able to take control over my life again. If you stay on this medicine hun you can do the same. If you do gain a few pounds it will only be temp because it is only water gain from what I have read about Cymbalta.. This will go away after a few weeks of being on it. And by then you will be in control of things like your diet and have the will power to say NO to the things you do not need in your diet. So all in all in the long run you will have the power to do things you never though was possible.. I know this was a great feeling for me. The best part is I was not crying all the time. And for some reason I would let things roll off my back when people would say hurtful things. The medicine really helped me deal with all this. I really hope you stick with it and just try it for awhile. You would be amazed with the differance of how you feel..
((((hugs))))) You know I care for you and wish you all the best!!!

I agree girlie - sounds like you are taking care of YOU and everything else be darned!!!! I have to take my Wellbutrin, when I tried not taking it to see how I'd do (with my doc's help) without it, I was a mess. Even my husband noticed something was different, I was so anxious and had that "wound tight" feeling, like I would positively explode, it was awful, and it just made me more anxious. Plus I'd cry over EVERYTHING, didn't really matter what it was, my favorite baseball team lost? WAAAAA! ;) I was a disaster, ha ha. So, it's what was best for me to do so I could enjoy things again. Not happy about being on a medication period, but hey, you do what you have to feel better. Maybe not perfect, but better! :)
And yep - don't forget - any time you go up a few pounds soooo quickly - it's water weight. That's the only thing that can fluctuate that way! ;)
Don't be sad about it, please. Sometimes it's just what we need to be feeling better - and leelee's right on the money - the longer you're on it, the better you feel, the more in control of things you are like food etc, because you are feeling good and not having the "why bother" feelings (I know them well, ha). It just takes time, and don't forget we are ALL here for you when you feel punky!!!!
XOXO

What it says to me about your life is that you are helping yourself feel better. When you feel better about life, it is easier to deal with life's up's and downs.
It is OK to have to take medication for depression. Give yourself a hug from me. Go Mary!:)
