IC and Bartonella/Lyme

Does anyone know anything about the connection between IC and bartonella or Lyme disease. My IC symptoms started to show up about a year ago, shortly after I got my two cats. I just brought my cats to the vet yesterday for suspected bartonella testing. When I was researching it, I happened across several forums that linked bartonella and lyme to IC. I just find it to be a strange coincedence that my symptoms started to show up when they did. Is there anyone that has found that bartonella or lyme disease has caused their IC? Is it possible to have bartonella without any of the tell tell symptoms, such as a rash and swollen lymph nodes?

I will be getting the test results for my cats in a week or two. If they are positive, which most likely they will be, I am considering getting myself tested. Any advice on how/where to get tested?

I haven't been tested, have one dog who has been treated to prevent tick and fleas all her life.
