pain WORSE from narcotics?

Has anyone experienced this? I am wondering if this is my problem (one of them anyway!) I have heard of "narcotic hyperalgesia", or heightened pain sensation. I have been much worse since starting to take one to two Percocet a day, around the first of this year. I never put it together until today. Please, if anyone knows about this phenomenon, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

I am not going to be much help to you but I have heard of this. Dr. told a freind not an ICER that this was maybe what was happening to her. He told her to quite pain meds
all together. She would then have to wait I am not sure how long to see if the pain went away. After how ever long it was to wait if she still had pain it probably was not the meds making the pain. She quite and fairly soon afterwards she got a bad flu and ended up starting using the meds again. not everyday like before so it at least reduce the amount she was using.
I know this dosen't really answer your question, but that is about all I know. I am sure someone else will answer you.
