:hi: Hi everyone,
I just wanted to post this in hopes of helping someone out there who just got dx w/IC or vulvodynia.
I was dx'd with both about 1 year ago. I saw many different doctors, trying to find answers. Some docs made things worse and some helped me. I am now close to a maintenance state.
For my IC I have found if I take my 10mg Atarax twice a day and drink ALOT of water I mostly have good days.
For my vulvar pain I take calcium citrate and a probiotic (for vaginal health).
I found out that my vulvar problems are mostly caused by a dermatological condition and take steroid topically for this. I went through steroid shots which helped heal the vestibulitis and the spliting of the skin. Now I take a topical steroid callled clobestol. I am trying to wean of of it.
I still have pain from both conditions but it is very much controlled. I am able to have intercourse again, which is a huge plus for me.
I hope this will help those just dx find hope. If you review my posts you will see the pain I went through in the beginning, but as time went on things improved.
I also read Guideposts magazine for some positive thinking. I think IC and VV have helped me grow into a stronger person who is more sympathetic to people with illnesses and more in tune with God.
