Hey ladies

Hope you all had a nice pain free weekend! I even managed to do abit of gardening as pain was no too bad!

I have been taking Elavil now for two years and without it I was a crippled mess! Now I am controlling my pain and able to work full time (just), so its a life saver for me really.

I was prescribed it by my neurologist who wrote to my GP to instruct them to continue prescribing 20mg. Now my gp have called me in to have a medication review! I have never had one of these before and not sure why or what it is?!

Anyone else had to have one of these on ami? I did ask his secratary but she was no help!

I guess deep down I am terrified they will take me off the ami as my life prior to taking this medication was quite terrifying and somewhere I would rather never go again! It has given me my life back and I have just bought a house and I know without it I wont be able to work.....so paying bills are gona be a mystery!!!!! !!!!!!!!! !!

Or perhaps this is just a routine review they do with everyone and I have nothing to worry about but you know me I HATE seeing a doctor due to past poor treatment and get quite anxious about it. I was even considering going on a fear of doctors course, which my GP recommended, but its was £300, which is about £299 more than I can afford right now ha!

But anyway anyone on elavil who has to have these reviews? what can I expect please.

thanks so much!
x

How long ago were you prescribed the Elavil? Could the review be in order to make sure that the prescription is not too old?
Not sure how things work in the medical system in the UK, hopefully someone else will know!

It will probably be fine, your dosage is low & the medicine is not a rare one, nor is it a narcotic pain medicine...

Let us know how it turns out, okay?

Whenever I go to my doctor, either for my every 6 month blood work or something else, my meds are reviewed by the intake nurse. I think that is done to see if I have stopped taking something or if I have gone somewhere else and that doctor added/subtracted to my list. When the doctor comes into the room, we talk about if my meds are doing what they are supposed to do for me.
