View Full Version : I am seeing my new IC Specialist Tomorrow! VERY SCARED!
Tomorrow I am driving into Rochester, NY to see my new Urologist. I am so scared he will turn me away because I have such a complicated case. I filled out all of my paperwork and added my own documents regarding my IC History. I have yet to compile a list of questions to bring to him. I've never been this nervous about a doc appt. but this is the only doc in NY that does the Neobladder surgery that I have and he's the only one whom can maintain the new bladder.......
My mom and grandmother are going with me incase I forget to tell him something.
I don't want to be pushed away. I just want a nice doc this time around whom will listen to me and take good care of me.

Just wanted to say Good Luck Kara!
Hope this uro is for you and vice versa.
Sometimes docs specialize in complicated cases and if the uro does the same kind of surgery as what you had...he/she must be used to such cases.
Hope you click with each other.

Good Luck Kara. Try to go in with a positive attitude. Also I have discovered over the years that if I am totally honest with my doctors and tell them what I truly fear and feel, that they have been more receptive to me. I even once told my primary care doc that I was afraid of losing him as my doctor because I had so many problems and would need to call more than most patients. He was fine with it and is still my doctor today 11 years later! Judith <img src="graemlins/bunny.gif" border="0" alt="[bunny]" />

Good luck Kara!
Since the doc has done your type of surgery before, he has dealt with many patients similar to you. I'm sure he will be great. Remember though, first impressions aren't always right. You can get them on a tough day when they are crabby too. They're human just like us!
Take care, Julie
