I was initially scheduled to start CyA a few weeks ago but after reading all the complications (i.e., decreased levels of creanitine , kidney complications, etc.) decided to research Cellcept. After hours and hours of research and 4 consultation visits with my doctor, I decided to go with Cellcept. Also, I did have my husband go with me to my last consultation (yesterday) so the doctor could let him know what symptoms/reactions to look for that would constitute a call to the doctor/ER (plus, of course, all the risks, etc.). It helped a lot to have him there as he tends to listen and look "outside the box"; and I am "in the box" (so to speak). I have the script in hand; due to get filled today. I am nervous, as it is still an immunosuppressant , but feel much more comfortable than cya. One thing that bothers me is that I can't take any herbs. I have been taking a multitude of different herbs (not necessarily just for I.C.) for over 15 years; but my doctor looked up the drug interactions and said absolutely NO herbs..whatsoever! So, that will be an adjustment. I have a (long) list of "DO's and DON'T's/ "CAN and CAN'T's", etc. Will keep you posted (when possible), and pray that this "IS" the one.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you (I.C.er's).
