Well, Just when things seem to be getting better for me, I started having heart palpations again. I was Dx in 2006 with PVCs and was told I would probbaly have them on and off my whole life. But lately they have been coming on more. So I was told to stop the Tofranil Immediately! This is one of the main side effects of Tofranil. But it is just now starting to bother me.. I am so bummed out about this. Because first I had to stop Elavil due to weight gain and now Tofranil. The Dr is letting me go back on Cymbalta, it did work ok for IC pain but not very good for my Vulvodynia and I suffer badly with that when I flare!.

Please keep me in your prayers that the nerve pain from the Vulvodynia/ IC will not come back with a Vengeance! I am just so upset over this!! :(

Hopefully you'll find something very soon that'll keep things in check for you.

Leelee, have you ever tried Toprol for the palpitations? My husband heart throws pvc's too, and the toprol has been a great solution.

Wishing you the best!

Rhonda, I also take Toprol XL for irregular heart beats. Mine is called atrial fibrillation. It's the most common type of arrhythmia in the world. The Toprol doesn't stop the arrhythmias, it just slows them down so they bother you less. I also take an antiarrhythmic, Rhythmol which is what helps stop the arrhythmias from coming back. They can also be caused by dehydration, minor electrolyte disturbances, hormones, genetics....There are also dangerous arrhythmias out there but my Electrophysiologist(Cardiologist that specializes in irregular heart rhythms)has assured me that mine are benign. I would find out for sure if I were you, especially since you've found something that has helped.I'm praying you find an answer quickly.

Hey girl...I'm so sorry to hear that you had to stop something that was working so well for you. I took one 10mg pill of Tofranil & had a bad reaction to it, so all I can take for my bladder is Elmiron and we know that can take forever to begin working if it even does.
I wish you the best of luck sweetie & hang in there!!

Sorry to hear this. :grouphug: If it isn't one thing it is another. Wish there was just one magic pill we could all take for every problem we have under the sun.

Leelee, that just plain old stinks. I am hoping that you will be tied through with your Topamax and other meds until you find something else that works for you.

Rhonda,
I am keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that you will continue to do well without the trofranil. You are always so kind and helpful to all of us on these boards. Keep us posted on how you are feeling. Wishing you well...Linda

Leelee,
I'm so sorry to hear this. :(I know you had success w/ both Elavil and Tofranil, but b/c of one side effect or another now you are now no longer able to take either! :( I hope your doctors find something for you soon that helps without side effects. I know how disappointing it is to have a med work for you and then have to go off of it. Especially if it helps with your VV. When I was taken off one of my most helpful VV meds I was so afraid that I wouldn't find anything else that would work, but I did. I hope the same for you:pray:

:( Oh Ronda I'm so sorry you're having such problems (((((((( you ))))))). I hope there is another med they can give you to help you. I know how the med sensitivity thing can be so very frustrating.

Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers to you that something will work and soon!

Hugs,
Brittany
