I just wanted to say hi- I was lurking around here a lot about a year ago when my bladder problems started, and I'm back because they've really flared up again.:evilsmile This site is one of the best releases I've found for my anxiety and despair about what's happening with my body. Just knowing that I'm not the only one is so huge- so thank you all for being here and sharing!
So, I was finally diagnosed with IC by my new primary care doc who is a great lady, and she referred me out. My new urologist then referred me to a chronic pelvic pain group that it takes 8 months to get appointments with:rolleyes:, and in the mean time I'm doing physical therapy and using oxybutynin patches to try to control my frequency....which is like 20+ times a day :loco:
I've been doing the IC diet and haven't had any citrus, tomatoes or fruit for a year now:smile tee which seems to be helping at least a bit- my urethra doesn't have pain very often and I think that's due to the diet.
My pelvic floor is all messed up, I think because of surgery I had 5 years ago for a genetic prolapsed colon. I remember the doctor saying "the only bad thing that could happen is that later in life these same muscles could tighten up." Hmmmm..... ya think?? lol
So that's where I'm at. I see my physical therapist again later this week and I'm hoping we try some biofeedback or talk about the TENS unit. I'm trying to do all the exercises she taught me, and I'm really hoping that if I get my PFD under control, then maybe I'll stop having all these bladder symptoms :) Hoping :)
Thanks for reading my ramble here! Hope everyone is having a good day and thanks for listening :)
