HI OUT THERE. I AHVE HAD IC LONG TIME EVERY TREATMENT THERE IS. EVEN BLADDER REMOVAL. I ANSWERED A MESSAGE BOARD LAST WEEK AND THE GIRL WAS FROM MY HOME TOWN VALPARAISO INDIANA. I SENT HER MY EMAIL BUT CANT FIND HER. CAN ANY ONE PLEASE HELP ME. PAIN IS SO SEVERE THAT SOME DAYS I WISH I DIDNT EXIST.I AM ALWAYS ON THE CHAT LINE IN THE EVENING. thank you donna for replying to my letter. how do i get a referrel to get help with my pain. right now i am taking pyridim pus and vicondin at same time. i use to have good a nd bad now they all seem bad. thanks again donna take care

If your insurance coverage is managed care, you will need a referral from your primary care physician. Basically, what you need to do is to tell your physician that you are in severe pain at all times, what is or is not working for you, and request that you be seen by a specialist in pain control. If you don't have to deal with a managed care plan, you may be able to make an appointment without the referral. Some pain centers do demand the referral, so your primary care doctor may need to be involved.
