Does anyone know if having an orgasm can cause bladder pressure? I can have pain free sex, but If I have an orgasm I get bladder pressure afterwards. The first time I had one nothing happened, then I read that it willl cause a flare so the next time I got presssure. I'm thinking it might be all in my head.
Does anyone here have a satisfying sex life? Aren't orgasms suppose to help with pain and set off good nerve signals? Again I don't have pain no matter what position but I'd like the big show if you know what I mean.
Thanks

I have not been able to have sex with my hubby in over a year due to this disease. I did notice that sometimes when I would orgasim, I would be in less pain in my bladder for about an hour afterwards, then I would have worse pain. honestly though, lately I have avoided all sexual stuff due to the fear of getting a UTI or flareing my IC even more than it is already.

I am able to have sex comfortably and I do not feel worse after orgasm - I feel better. But this could be different for everyone - just like so many other symptoms. Wishing you well...Linda

I wasn't able to have sex for awhile until I was able to get the pain under control. After that I could have sex, sometimes it hurt and sometimes it didn't. It was wierd. Usually, it wouldn't hurt, but I would have pain the next day. Everyone is different. It helps to have support from your partner. It's hard at first to discuss because you feel inadequate, but you have to respect your body, and your partner has to aswell. It will be hard for him at first, but it he loves you he will understand what you are going through and support you through it. Good Luck!
