I have been doing very well with controlling my symptoms recently. I saw my doctor yesterday for my annual gyn exam and it was the first time I had seen him since the end of February. No rescue instills, no nerve blocks. Just PT and meds. One bad flare up in that time that was well managed after 2 days with one good dose of ultram and lots of water. I was back up and running well by the end of a week from that. Anyway, he has released me to 4 month follow-ups for a year and if I continue to do well, we will spread it out to 6 months. He is keeping me at my current level on all meds for now and will try to lower doses possibly starting in August.

I am working with a new PT since the otehr one is out on complete bedrest untilher twins are born. This one is going to teach me how to do my own internal release and will also teach my husband some techniques to alleviate/manage my low back pain as well as internal release. I have a 20 visit max. through my insurance so it is important that we know what to do to keep things going well. I have used about 11 so far this year, I think. I want to hold a few for later in the year in case I have any problems. I enter the gym part next week so that I can learn what will work best for me when I join the local gym.

Just wanted to share my success. I have gone from 60+ times a day and 20 times a night peeing to about 10-12 a day and 1-2 at night. I am thrilled with that. I never expected to get this close to "normal" so I am ecstatic.

Thanks girls. I feel really good about the progress. I am just trying to lose a few pounds now that things have stabilized with meds. My thyroid was out of whack a bit and is now back on course. That took me down 4 pounds but I need to get about 6 more off to feel comfy in my summer clothes again. I am guessing that Lyrica put that weight on. Of course, that said, if I needed to buy clothes one size larger in order to keep the benefits of the Lyrica, I would do it. I'm used to being slim so this was difficult for me to gain so much weight. About 16 pounds was gained over 4 months. I lost too much when my thyroid was over-corrected last spring/summer. My clothes were practically falling off at that time. So, I just want to get back to a normal, healthy weight.

After much research and trial and error I've discovered that upping my desicated thyroid that I was already taking and divying it up into 3 times per day as apposed to all at once has elleviated my bladder and pelvic pain completely. I also have been taking 3% bioidentical progesteron and testosteron along with inserting estriol cream every other night. Having only started a week ago I'm feeling completely feeling cured and want to share with others...

My resource is Dr. Alvin Pettle who's a gynacologist and naturopath

Thanks for sharing your success!! I too was soo very tiny, I was fitting into childrens clothes. But quitting cigarettes and being treated for my IC, It is crazy how much weight I have gained. I am keeping my spirits up and will take the lesser flares over the tiny frame. So, don't sweat a couple pounds and hurt yourself trying to lose it!! ENjoy the success!!!

Thanks! I still have bloated days but I am feeling awesome lately! I volunteer a lot at school and I was able to work the book fair full days (on my feet) with only 1-2 potty breaks from 9-3!! I haven't had that kind of day in I don't know how long. It has been this way all week. My twins had DARE Graduation and activities all day and I only had to go three times. I am in heaven!!! So, there is hope for all. I'm on an as needed basis for now with PT as well. I miss my morning meds more days that I can recall. So, I am thrilled that I am doing so well. I moved my Lyrica all to a single dose at night since it is only 50mg. I have decreased my Elmiron down to 200mg at bedtime as well. I still take my 20mg of hydroxizine. Will be joining the health club as soon as things slow down here with the end of year school things. My PT says I need to do strength training to help strengthen the pelvic floor. I am guessing that PFD has been a bigger contributing factor than I knew. My hubby was trained on what to do as far as internal trigger point release techniques so that we can make sure we don't lose ground on that. I hope that everyone can find this sort of success!!
