Wow.... the show last night was really surprising and I'm afraid that Jason will be out tonight. He just doesn't have the big, powerful voice of everyone else.

Syesha - Her best performance of the season. Wow, I didn't know she had that in her. Broadway is really her element.

David A - Yah... he was okay. He's just a bit babycakes to me.

Brooke - So very brave to stop her song and then start again. She's got a bigger voice than Jason, but she's not as strong as Carly or Syesha

Carly - AWESOME!!! It was the first time we saw her having fun and singing with joy. I wish that we could have seen that every performance... because, in her past performances, she's just been so serious. This time, she just had fun.

Jason - He tanked. Just wasn't a very good performance at all and I can't believe that he hadn't seen ANY of those musicals. That boggles the mind.

My fave - DAVID COOK!!!! He won last night, in my opinion. I think he's got such a rich voice and he proved that he can do more than rock out. He can sing... big songs... melodic songs... broadway would work for him too. Love it! Love it! Love it.

Your thoughts??

Lol I just made a thread bout this.. But here are my thoughts again..

Ok well last night show was.. Well a little disapointing to me! I just did not get into the songs to much..

I felt SO sorry for Brooke..This is the second time she has had to start over. But I still like her!

Little David- was great again, What a big voice..

David Cook- has become one of my favorites

Syesha Mercado- I think was the best last night!

Jason Castro - To me was kind of boring, Just was not his best

Carley- I really liked her perfomance last night looked like she was haivng a blast!

It about broke my heart when Brooke stopped and started. Especially after what Paula said. I think Brooke will have a career, I just don't think she will be "the" Idol. For this, I am truly saddened. She is so real.

David Cook was very good last night. "Music of the Night" is one of the best songs ever written. It is romantic, haunting, sultry, and just plain beautiful. David did a real fine job with it.

I wish I could like Carly, but I just don't. I don't know why. Maybe because she seems so contrived, fake, ??? I did not like her performance last night. She about screamed her head off.

Syesha...Last night...Now that is what I call a fantastic performance.

Jason...Not good at all last night.

David...He is a cute one, that's for sure, and he can sing almost anything. I just didn't like his song last night.

WOW, I was really surprised that Carly was the one to go! What an interesting Top 5 -- they're all really different from each other. I think Jason Castro is very sincere and he's extremely good at covering up his weaknesses, but he just doesn't have much of a voice. I'm kind of surprised he made it this far. The rest of them I'm not surprised are still in it. I wasn't too sure if Brooke would make it this far, but I like her a lot and I'm glad that she did. I kind of thought, after "Andrew Lloyd Weber Night," that Brooke might be the one to go. I thought Carly had a good performance, but "Jesus Christ Superstar" is offensive to a lot of people, so I'm thinking that might not have been the best possible choice she could have made. And I just have to say, Syesha was phenomenal!

What do you all think? Anyone know what next week's theme is?

Neil Diamond is the mentor so I am sure next week will be built around his music.

Personally, I was glad to see Carly go. I have not enjoyed her performances from the very first. She screams too much when she is singing.

I had it so wrong on the results show. I figured that Brooke and Jason would in the bottom two. As far as Brooke is concerned, I was very happy that she had received enough votes to stay on the show. I am also glad that Syesha was safe, also.

I would have been very upset to see Syesha go... She had the best performance of the night I think!

Yeah, she definitely did -- she actually put together a little Broadway-style "number," with choreography and costuming and theatricality, and her voice is so smooth. No one else did anything like that.

I don't know what was with Carly not singing the melody on "Jesus Christ Superstar." Obviously it was planned that way, since the backup singers had it well in hand. I've done that song and it's very rangy -- covers almost two octaves, I think, and maybe she just wasn't confident that she could hit the high notes. But I don't know why; she's seemed to have a pretty strong range to her voice. I don't like her style, but I can't deny she does have good pitch and a good range.

Not a big Neil Diamond fan. If they can impress me with his stuff, I'll give them a lot of credit!
