:confused:I have been on Elmiron since August of 2007 (4 capsules per day). Yesterday I had my prescription filled and got the shock of my life. I have insurance, but a high deductible and I guess it was the beginning of a "new" year and I must once again make my deductible before they will pay anything. My bill was $247.61 for 100 capsules. I can't continue to pay this much for this prescription. Does anyone have a suggestion about a good alternative med that would help as much as Elmiron has helped me? I sure don't want to go back to the way I was, but don't know what to do about the expense.:help:
Thanks

I had to switch to Glucosamine/MSM because I was loosing my hair from Elmiron. I am doing pretty good from it. Also thier are alot of people that have success with CystoProtek sold here on the ICN.. So maybe the alternatives could help you..I wish you luck!

• Desert Harvest Aloe Vera
• Licorice Root (Soothing and coating)
• Quercetin (may reduce the effectiveness of some forms of estrogen)
• Glucosamine Sulfate
• Mullein (protecting)
• Slippery Elm (coating, don’t take near Elmiron)

These alternatives all work in the same way Elmiron does. Some of them have a higher success rate than Elmiron. Cytoprotek that Ronda mentioned has a few of the ones in this list in it.
Good luck! I hope you can find something that works for you that doesn't take too much out of your budget!
