Hey Kara,
Do you have email? I would love to chat at you about the stone issue. I have dealt with it for so long and if you would like some tips/ideas/encouragement/venting buddy/etc..please email me at angela.currie@gte.net. I am sooo sorry you are going through all of this. It is so frustrating, painful and overall just not fair.
Hugs to you..
Angie
Angie,
My email is not up yet. I would love to chat! As soon as I get it up I will let you know. For the stones are being silent but every day it changes. Some days I feel good and others my back hurts so badly I want to die.....They gave me loads of pain medication to help when I have bad days. In 3 weeks, if the stones have not moved, the doc will go in and take them out.
Thank you so much for the support!

I hope they will go away before the 3 weeks, I will pray for you!!!
How was your new uro? did you like him? wink.gif
Kara I'm sorry you're not doing well. I'm by no means an expert but can they remove them without going in? In the uro's office last week, I overheard him telling this man that they can just break them up from outside the body now. Maybe it's different for each case though. Well hope you're feeling better soon!

Kara,
I sure hope they go away on their own. How do they remove them? I'm praying for you. Get lots of rest on those good days.
Take care, Julie

Kara, I am not sure, but I think you told me that all you could drink before your surgery was milk. I am wondering if that is why you have gotten the kidney stones. I know they can form if you are not getting enough clear fluids! That is why i have gotten them in the past. I hope you are better soon!!!!!! Lots of love and hugs, Melanie
Melanie,
Yes, you are correct, before I had my bladder removed, I drank tons of milk. Whole milk, I know that sounds gross, but I like it so much better (icy cold too). But after my surgery, I had and still have been drinking tons an tons of diluted lemonaide. I drink about 2 quarts of it a day. Unfortunately, I read somewhere that people with my type of new bladder get reoccuring kidney stones and intestinal pain. I just talked to someone on the phone that has the exact same problem........errrrrrrrrrrrrr.....
I still feel that this is almost 100% better than having IC. But I still can't work because of the back pain and intestinal spasms.
I am going to ask my doc next time I see him (Nov.21, 2002) if he can give me something on a permanent basis that would break up my stones so they could pass more easily.
Thanks for replying Melanie! I have been staying away from my dearly loved Milk until the situation with the stones has been resolved. Great suggestion! That is what the ER told me to do.

Sorry I have not posted in a while! Just Battleing alot of KIdney Infections. They also put in a self Port-a cath for IVs and Pain Meds abd to draw blood with. Also a New Uro! I really like him. In 3 Months we will do a loop-agram and a renal function test!Depends on what the loop=agram shows a ct scan of the Kidneys and Loop! Keep us in your Prayers. All I need is just one more kidney infection.
But I am sooo happy that I do not have to be stuck with anymore IVS. The Port is worth it all now.
