Well, the good news is my colonoscopy/EGD (tube which views esophagus) is complete. The Colyte liquid "lavage" (preparation) prior to the colonscopy did not hurt my bladder at all even though there was potassium in it. I believe it also contained sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), so that must have negated the bad effects of the potassium. My esophagus and stomach looked great (except for existing hiatal hernia); considering I've had GERD for years, that's great. Yayyyyy! A 3 mm polyp was removed from my sigmoid colon and it will be checked for abnormalities under the microscope; I'll know in two weeks. I'm not overly worried about this small polyp.
Now, onto the IC stuff. Well I suspended all of my meds for at least two days including my total of 75 mg of hydroxyzine HCL since I was not eating one day prior to the test and on the testing day. I had been on this dose of hydroxyzine HCL for months, and between it and my glucosamine/MSM, I was doing great.
Well, my body is used to the hydroxyzine, no doubt, so...........
without it for two days, I couldn't get to sleep til 4 AM! My normal in 10 - 11PM. Yikes!
I guess without all my meds, my body got out of kilter. It may take me a while to get back to baseline.
Has anyone else suspended their meds (specifically Hydroxyzine HCL) for whatever reason, and found that their sleep routine got disrupted? Yech.
Thank you for responding. Pain free days to all.
