Dr Washington, Burlington NC?

He is a urogyn and I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with his practice? I am going to see him on Monday. I am hopeful he can help me with a plan of action. So far I have only been on Elmiron for about 3 months and not seeing much improvement. I also have PCOS and he can work with that too. I know I have a large cyst right now and I need a new gynecologist. I am praying this is what I have been looking for, right now I feel so defeated by this. I follow the diet, take the meds given me and still I hurt everyday and I am having a very difficult time at work. I am on intermittant FMLA so right now I am protected but it won't always be that way and I fear I will lose my job and my insurance with it. I was dx in Feb but I think I am just now coming to terms with the fact that this is not going to disappear as quickly as it appeared in my life. I kept thinkin if I could just stay positive it would go away----not happening. Now I keep crying over everything, I guess I am in the greiving process for the life I have lost and afraid of the unknown life I will have in future. I love to travel and take cruises and I wonder if that will ever be possible again. Oh well, I am rambling, please let me know if anyone knows of Dr John Washington and your thoughts on him.

It is possible that you will be able to find the right doctor and the right meds/treatments that will help you. Life with IC is not something that anyone would wish for, but it is possible to have a very fulfilling one despite having IC. Take it one day at a time. (((Hugs)))
