What probiotic works for you?

I am looking for a probiotic to help with digestive / IBS-like symptoms aggravated by 17 days of antibiotics. I have tried Align and Kyo-Dophilus so far, both which gave me bladder flares.

Can you tell me what has worked for you? I don't know where to look next!

I get Flora Gen 3. It works great when you are taking an antibiotic so you don't get a yeast infection or diarrhea. I find it in the refrigerator in the nutritional supplement section of the health food store. You might be able to find it at the pharmacy too. Ask the pharmacist.

In terms of dosage, I take just one capsule a day.

I take VSL #3 I did have a flare for a short time after starting it but after sticking through it I was better than before the flare aftewards. Bowel wise I couldn't praise anything more than VSL since it totally made a huge difference and I wouldn't want to be without it.

I take inner health plus (dairy free) its great it has helped with ic pressure etc. i take one every morning before breakfast

I went to Wegman's & bought Natural Factors Acidophilus & Bifidus. Each capsule contains 5 billion active cells & you can take up to 3 capsules a day (I only take 1 and it works wonders)!! You need to refrigerate the bottle, but this stuff has been a godsend for my IBS!!

My accupuncturist has done research on this and told me to take Megadophilus made by Natren. You can find it at whole foods market. I haven't had any flares from it.

I have the same problem. I flare from probiotics, and haven't found one yet, and of course you become reluctant to try new things afterward because who wants to flare!! I have tried Pearls, Culturelle, Sustenex, Natrol, and I'm not sure if I've tried others. What I'd like to know is is have any of you had trouble finding one that didn't flare you, and the ones you are mentioning are the ones that you found that didn't or did you not flare at all from probiotics. Sorry for the confusing question. Katrina how long would you suggest waiting before you call it quits on one of these. How long did you flare for with the VSL? Thanks a bunch.

I am on Floraderm now but have also taken Florastor. Both are okay with me.
