This past week has been the worst. So last night I went to walgreens and got some Azo Standard, (same thing as pyridium) I used it when I first felt my first symptoms of IC and I remember it helping. That was when I thought I had a UTI. I had no idea I had IC. After that though when my bladder started hurting again, I had tried it again and it didnt work. So I knew this time that it might work, but it might not. Luckily it took the edge off. I also got some unisom. Not the one with diphenhydramine, but the one with Doxylamine Succinate, and it did help me to finally fall asleep. I read online that its the best OTC sedative out there and is even used for anxiety. I have had severe anxiety lately and finally for the first time in a while I got some relief last night. The unisom took the edge off of the aching pain in my bladder, and the unisom helped me sleep. I still got up every hour to pee, and today I have still had to urinate at LEAST every hour, sometimes every half hour, but for now my bladder feels a little better. We'll see Thursday if I do have a UTI. I can't wait for my doctors appointment Thursday with my new urologist. I'm going to talk to him about pain meds.
