Hi All hi , First I want to thank everyone for the concern and support. I have had it kinda rough these last few months and not felt like getting on the computer much. I had my bladder removed on Dec.8th of last year. I have been back in the hospital 3 times since then with complications. I had the Indiana Pouch done and it's not wanting to work right and keeps backing up into my kidneys and inlarging them which is quite painful. I have the small stoma in my bellie button and can't tell it's even there and I have to cath thru the bellie button to empty the pouch every 4 hours but the little flap in the top of the pouch isn't working right will have to have more surgery this summer to correct that.Even will all the trouble I am having with it right now..I would do it all over again to be free from the IC,,I know all of these things can be fixed it will just take time and patience omy part. I still have days that I don't feel like getting up outta bed but like I said with time it will all be ok. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and cards when I was in the hospital. Thank you for always being here for me. My prayers are with you all. Just because I am not here often doesn't mean I am not thinking of you. God bless you all and praying for many pain free days for you.. grouphug grouphug Love Brea

Brea,

Welcome back! Sending prayers that your complications will soon go away and you'll be able to better enjoy daily life. I'm glad to hear that despite some of the complications you're experiencing, the decision you made seems to be the right one for you. It's an adjustment and it's understandable that you have some days where it's hard to get out of bed, but I'm sure once things are working like they should, you'll be zipping around once again!

Brea, good to hear from you! Sorry you are having so many problems, but sounds like you have the right attitude and it will get you far. My pouch is 12 years old now, but the first year or so things were not the greatest. I love my pouch now, it just takes lots of time, though souunds like you do need a revision which is not uncommon. I wish you the best the of luck, email me if want to talk.Judith bunny

Am I reading this right? You empty every 4 hours? Even with the complications, that sounds like heaven!

I hope you get your difficulties worked out soon.
