My name is Jim beech. I had my bladder removed one year ago after suffering for many years with IC. Eventually I was in constant pain and urinating every 15 minutes. This went on for nearly two years. In the course of all this I had two prostate operations. During the bladder removal operation the surgeon discovered I also had bladder cancer which meant I had to go back three months later to have the eurethra removed.
I now have a stoma with an external plastic bladder which I change once a week. I am totally fit and healthy without a trace of pain. I void my bladder every four hours or so. I get up once in the night.I still want to pinch myself to prove that I am not dreaming. During all those years of pain I was told I could not be cured. I tried all sorts of remedies and diets suggested my people on the netbut with little sucess.
I am now 69 and had my first twinges in 1974, so you can see it has been going on for a long time.
It is, of course, more difficult for a younger person to consider this type of solution but, if the pain is bad enough and incurable, you will do anything. I have been in touch with another subscriber from canada who has decided to go for it and he is going to keep me in touch with how he gets on.
Regards, Jim beech

Jim, I am glad you had such a good outcome. I did too, I am forever thankful that I had the surgery. Judith

I would love to know where this person in Canada had his bladder removed and by what doctor. It seems hard to find doctors who will consent to this in Canada

Did you look at the date this was first posted? This post is 6YEARS OLD! Most likely there is no way to find out the info you seek from this post since it is so old. The other thing is that the last time Jim has posted was back in 2003.
