And what specific improvements did you notice?

One PT I saw wants me to come 2x per week for 6 months. Another says 1x per week for 8 weeks + instructions on what to do yourself to continue to improve at home. Both come highly recommended but the difference in approach is mind blowing, to put it mildly...

I'd really appreciate any input/advice...

I have PT internal and external. I was going twice a week and I went for about 7 weeks. I had to stop going because it was just to painful for me. I would be in pain from the session until the next session began, it was an on going cycle. It got to the point I had to have someone drive me because I couldn't drive afterwards. It was internal part that did it for me. It may be very helpful for other people though. During this month I am restarting only the external, which is not a problem. The external most likely is really going to help me. Good Luck! After the first time you should know what will be best for you.

I went once a week for about 6 weeks and have been going every 2-3 weeks now. I'll likely be having one or two more visits and then be discharged. I saw improvement pretty quickly. I was told by my PT that i am very lucky to have good insurance. If I am discharged now and find myself needing her 4 months from now, I can get a script from my doctor and just go in a few times to get back on track. They don't require a certain number of visits per week. Just 20 visit max per year.
