Well, I have stopped all of my meds.,and we are going for it . We are ready to have a baby. I bought the clear plan easy fertility monitor and started using it a couple of days ago. I am alittle nervous. Since stopping my meds. I have noticed an increase in my frequency, not sure if it is nerves or the lack of meds. Well, keep your fingers crossed for us. Hopefully I will be among the pregnant ICers soon. Thanks for your support.

Hi! I`m crossing my fingers for you! And guess what? I`ve stopped my Elmiron yesterday hoping to get pregnant too! I had my last DMSO treatment last week... I counted 6 days before my ovulation to stop the meds. I have to admit that I`m pretty scared.. But I`ve been posponing this pregnancy for almost a year now. Everytime things got better, I had relapses and the pain came back even with the DMSO and Elmiron. I just got tired of putting my life on hold... So I`m going for it. I just finished a battery of tests and everything looks good (even my bladder!). What I find scary is that there`s not a lot you can do if the pain comes back while pregnancy (at least that`s what I`ve been told!). Do you know something I don`t about that???
Also, maybe I`m scared because I never really delt with the pain whitout jumping on medication or treatments. With all of that, I`ve been pain free for most part of these last two years...
I`m kinda leaving it in God`s hands: if it works right away, it means that it is the right time for a baby... I just think about the joy of having this baby and it makes it pretty irresistible...
So cross your fingers for me too!!! And I wish you all the luck in the world!

I have been on meds since before I was diagnosed, (over 11 years)since I have a back injury as well as accute Hunners. I was wondering. HOW can anyone get through a day in such pain.. I still have a lot of pain and I use the Patch..plus Hydrocet for break through pain..I have such a sensitive system and can stand a lot of pain, but finally gave in some 11 years ago, after the 10th MD and several abdominal surgeries that took all my insides out.... If it's OK to ask, did you go through withdrawals or suffer? I would LOVE to never have to take pain meds again...the cost is staggering, the patches alone are 320.00 a month...any suggestions.. I would really love to know how this can happen.. Did you not need pain meds anyway, or just take them sometimes? Thanks

:hi: Ladies

I whish you ladies the best of luck. I when off all my meds when I wanted to have another baby and its the best thing I could have done.

This is going to sound strange but when I got pregnant I did not have any of the IC symtoms. It was great. I told my Gyno that if it was possible to remain preg for life she laughed when I said that but I told her I feel better all these 9 months than I have felt in a lot of years. It was weird but I felt great even after I had her and as long as I continued to breast feed.

Good Luck

When I was working I was working in a high risk obstetrics unit with women with special needs, or special illnesses, etc, that had to be monitored in house, meaning they stayed with us for days to months of their pregnancy to end with a great, happy ending, healthy baby, and healthy mom.

If anyone has any pregnancy questions or fears, etc, please, please pm me and I would be honored to help you guys out. I miss being a nurse so much but since this is the closest I can get to playing that role then so be it. I was meant to help people, and I feel better and seem to thrive when I've made a difference in someone's life. So please, any question, and no question is silly, ask away and I'll be there for you all. Since my email address isnt on this site, if you pm me, we can start emailing by sharing addresses in the pm's.

Love, Sandy

I have never read the meesages in this section before. I was afraid, having a baby has been my biggest dream, I want to be a mother more than anything. I have been teaching preschool since I graduated (much to my families surprise I was supposed to become some great professor but I just feel so happy around children). I was diagnosed in october 03, and I really thought all my dreams were over, to sick to teach and everyone (family, husband) said I should not have children. But, here I see that there are others brave and blessed. I am so happy because of this. I wish all the absolute best, please keep posting it is so inspiring.

I would really encourage you to see a good UroGyno. I was lucky that in my town there was a woman that specialized with Urology and Gynocology, she really encouraged me to try at least to get pregnant cuz I did not know if I could and it took aroundd 10 months but I finally did and I was shocked that I felt sooooooo great. I do know that I did alot of  and I had people  for me as well. I say you go girl and dont give up.

Good Luck
