Has anyone tried a pitcher water filter. You fill the top of the pitcher with water and it filters down into the pitcher. This seems to work well for my IC. There is one problem. It seems that the filter wears out quickly. Maybe I am using it so much that it wears out fast. I like to drink tea and have to filter all of the water to make my sweet ice tea (this is my one true love since my IC). I bought the filter pitcher thinking that would be cheaper than buying filtered water. My pitcher is pretty small. Do you think a bigger pitcher would work better - the ones with double filters? If you have any experience with this, please let me know.

There should be information about how many gallons of water can be filtered before you have to change the filter. I used to have one of those (a Brita), but I switched to a Pur faucet-mounted filter, which seems to last longer. Just figure out how much water you can filter and calculate how much it's costing you.

I drink way too much water :) to afford the filters or wait time for the pitcher filtering process. I fill 3 gallon jugs at one of the self-serve side of the road reverse osmosis places....it's only 25 cents a gal. and the 3 gallon jugs w/ a handle are much easier for me to carry than the 5 gallon. I have a water dispenser that I place the jugs on at home for easy access/no spills. I did at one time have one of the mounted filters on my faucet, but still, I couldn't afford to keep up with the filters! Best wishes...I hope you find the way that works best for you!
