Wow... well this is a devasting blow for China... It appears that the contamination may be a counterfeit heparin added to artificially raise heparin levels in the product.
Germany has recalled all heparin from China. Now two manufacturers are under investigation and a few more companies, besides Baxter, may have been sold the contaminated product and distributed it.

Thanks for posting that Jill. This is going to be devistating for China you are right about that. I ran across an interesting article that explained how Heparin is made and the various places it's made.

I know this recall has affected the price of Heparin already and it's probably going up from here. My Insurance Co will not pay for my Heparin. I just paid $98.00 for a box of 25 vials that only had 2ml which is half my dose. A few weeks ago the cost would have been $77 and that was for the 4ml vials.

Thanks for the info. The urogyn's office that I used to go to seemed as if they had something to fear for using the product. In fact, I just wanted to know if the recalled product had been used on me when I had a very bad reaction that they swore could not be from the heparin in the rescue instill. Not sure what made me think it was the heparin at the time but I kept saying it had to be that. Never had that same reaction ever again (or at least not to the same severity).
