YES! Especially the first year I took it...helped not only with my PMS but also completely knocked out my menstrual pain. I've been on an off it over the past 10 yrs...but the first year was when it helped the most with those sympotoms. Best wishes :)

I've been on Prozac for a few years now specifically for my PMS and it is MUCH better than it was. I still get really teary, but I'm not crying over nothing anymore. The depression is much better and it also helps with the bad temper I get when I'm PMSing too

I used to take Prozac but it wasn't good with my sex life....no orgasms. Now I take Wellbutrin XL and haven't had anymore problems with PMS. I was so bad I couldn't even stand my own self.

Hi All -
I am experiencing TERRIBLE PMS. I guess I am considered "PMDD" officially. The dr. tried Prozac, Lexapro, and 2 days ago Effexor. All of these throw me into the worst flares imaginable. I slept 3 hours 2 nites ago. Even after having taken Pyridium and Ultram. So - anyone else have some advice? Sounds like the SSRI's are working for some (I'm jealous) but not me. I am considering trying Wellbutrin, or maybe just holistic meds - Happy Campers, Vit B. Is there any other option? My Gyn basically told me he couldn't help me, to talk to my primary care doc. But I don't think he's going to know anything either..... thanks....
