Many of you know that I'm a school principal. It can be a fun job.
Last week I had a 1st grader sent to me because he had threatened another child.
I asked him to explain what the other child had done to cause him to be so mean.
He told me, "He was messin' with me". I told him that I didn't understand 'messin' with me'. It didn't explain the problem that he was having with the other boy.
Then he said, "He was pluckin' my nerves'. Again, I told him I didn't understand 'pluckin my nerves'. It didn't give me any idea of what the child had done to incite this threat.
I asked again what had happened. He waited and waited... and I asked again.
He looked at me very innocently and said, "I'm trying to find a word that you might understand."
My vocabulary needs to be updated I guess!!

While the situation itself isnt funny, the path in which you had to go down to get an explanation is a hoot! :lmao:

That is just so downright cute. I love the things that can sometimes come out of the mouths of children. As long as it is "clean" talk, that is. :)
