does anyone take elavil and synthroid

My uro may start me on elavil and I was reading that you weren't supposed to take it with synthroid. ANyone know about this?

I don't take synthroid but i looked it up and it didn't say anything about that....
unless the med has soy in it or something.....here are the links i read....

you could ask the pharmacist......they usually know more than docs when it comes to interactions.....
it does say certain foods and such should be avoided on synthroid but doesn't say what.....
but if your just starting amitriptyline it should be a very low dose to start....
i was started on just 10 mg......

I've been on Synthroid for many years (currently 150mcgs), and just a few months discontinued Elavil (per my URO), though not because of any type of interaction.
If you're the least bit concerned by all means run this question by your prescribing pharmacist.

I figured it was ok, there are not really any drugs that can't be taken with synthroid. I am starting on a low does 10. I will let you know if it helps

I've take Synthroid for about 25 years and just started Elavil about 18 months ago. I haven't noticed any problems. A previous poster mentioned interactions between Synthroid and certain foods. I know grapefruit interacts with Synthroid, but I never really liked it and right now my bladder would really not like it.

Just wondering since you started taking the elavil if you have gained weight? I will be on a low dose of 10 mg and am actually more worried about constipation than weight gain, but would like to know what to expect. I am assuming that since you have continued on elavil that it has helped you????
