I finally have everything worked out. About time too I think. :loco: Back on the cymbalta. Talked to the pharmacist and he says you gain weight with the first 4-6 weeks and after that you can start losing again. I've gained 15 pounds now all together so will have to be fat for a little while and then work at getting it off again. Should go fast since it was just from the pill. With my luck it came on fast but takes twice as long to leave it behind. Found out something else while there too. This is the new pharmacy I have been going too and found out something with the prescriptions that the old pharmacy did wrong. Long story but I didnt' have to keep going back to my Uro for another perscription. I feel sooooooo much better with the cymbalta and have even noticed it is helping a little with the period cramps. :woohoo:Plus they did find a new supplier for the heparin and had that done today as well. :)Guess I’m finally a happy yo-yo for now. :smile tee

I am so happy that you are feeling better:smile tee I love being happy and laughing......but it seems those days are now few and far in between. I envy those that are always laghing and genuinely seem full of joy. I have been thinking of you guys and wondering if you knew that the Heparin was contaminated. I had my wonderful hubbie cath me and the next day I had KILLER pain. Therefore I asked him to cath me again and refused because he says that it is not good to cath two days in a row. It was later that week I found out about the the heparin. The news said that it has contributed to 19 deaths here in the U.S. SCARY!!!! As of right now I am instill free because of the heparin recall.

Sice I have started Celexa and Elavil I have gained 25-30 lbs. The reason I don't know which has caused is because I had only been on Elavil for a couple of weeks when the doc changed my Lexapro to Celexa. They are the same thing Celexa has just been tweaked a bit and given a new name. Leaxpro was about 80(I think) without Insurance and Celexa is $4.00 at Wal-mart.

Do you eventually stop gaining weight?? I get terribly hungry at night and I know that is from the Elavil. If I continue to gain weight I believe I'll just quit both meds. I can only fit into my sweats now/ My hubbie says no shopping because I just went In January and still have clothes with the tags on them. BUt they don't fit me. I have gained all of it in my belly and I just feel gross. Iam 5'4" and weigh 170. I start the meds at 145-140. Still on the chunky side but now I am obese.

Is it hard to lose weight with IC especially in the abdomen area?

I hope everyone is well and has a GREAT Easter:angel:

Mary, I am the happy owner of 7 dogs that all stay indoors. My house is literally a zoo. hehe

Hi There :hi: My doc finally did get some new heparin so had it done last week. This week he might not be able to do it. Can only get 4 vials at a time now were before it was 30. Didn't think they would throw mine out since mine was bought back in last spring early summer but they did. I'm 5' 4" too and I weigh 175 pounds. How cool we are the same. Welcome to my club. At the beginning of the IC I started out at 125-130. I tried the Celexa too and that helped a lot mind wise but I put on a lot of weight with it so I stopped after 3 months. Amytripline was another one but only took it for 1 week. Gained 1 pound a day on that one. For me losing the weight is harder now with the IC but that was due to the pain and being tired and I imagine mind wise I was not up to it. Now that the pain has been staying between 3-5 I just might be able to start exercising again. The pharmacist told me with the Cymbalta that the first 6 weeks you gain and after that it stops and you go back to be "normal" again. Not sure if that is good. Maybe abi-normal for me would be better. :bonk: So, for the next 8 weeks (giving 2 extra weeks for it) I plan on getting fatter and after that super diet woman comes out of the closet to jump right back in. :dizzy: I think that is awful your husband said you could not buy more cloths!! I have cloths in the closet too that still have the tags on them. 2 shirst I bought yesterday are to small. Thought they might be but I will hang them in the closet for later on wearing. You need some nice cloths for now to help you feel better. I know I didnt' want to spend anymore money on fat cloths but just had to do it for now. Can't you spend the money anyway?
I get the night time munchies too. I bought suckers to suck on. The small ones you have I think 5 of them for one serving. Plus I stay out of the kitchen as much as possible and I crochet/knit while watching tv. Keep myself busy and then if I can get past 8:00 pm I'm home free. Mine starts around 6:00 pm. Never hungry in the morning. Never was a morning person but they say you gain more weight if you skip breakfast.
I have always had a "stomach" before the IC. People would ask me when the baby was due.
Wow, 7 doggies in the house. Are they big ones? Maybe we could set up a play date for my cats and your dogs?

You all sound young. The doc told me that the weight would come off after I stopped the meds - but I'm past 50 and it doesn't work that way with old metabolism.

I would love to set up a play date buuuttt my dogs are not very good to cats unfortunately. I have had to hide a couple of my neighbors cats if you catch my drift. She just takes in strays and they hang around and get on our property but it doesn't make it right. It stresses me out. We have a lollie (collie lab mix), Cheagle (Beagle chow mix), a big lug (he is just huge but don't know the breed), shushkie (german shepard husky mix), Boston Terrier, Husky, and a Greyhound (my baby). They are all mostly rescues. The husky(had a really bad yeast infection) and cheagle (FULL of fleas and worms) came from very poor environments. Big Lug had the the kennel cough at the pound.....I told the worker and she said verbatim "I'll pretend I didn't hear that"....therefore I brought him home and the next day he was vomiting and lifeless. Took him to the vet......he had Coxxidia(SP.) they weren't sure he was going to pull through. GOt him better and then he had the Red mange. Seen him through that as well. He was discarded on the road and the pound happened to pick him up. I firmly believe he would have died if it wasn't for us. I just made up my own breed names....I've wondered if I could patent it and breed then sale for 500 like the Labradoodles....hehe.

Why did you stop the Elavil? Due to the weight gain?

I'll be 32 on Easter. People say I am young but feel old and worn out A LOT:bunny:
7 dogs

2 kids and one I wished I could adopt over evey weekend and sometimes during the week.
Both of my children are special needs children (one SEVERELY ADHD..say is LD but I think he just hates reading...major whiz at math amd building things)
My daughter Is severely Dyslexic, ADD, and has a Central Auditory Processing Disability. They keep on flip flopping on whether she need a hearing aid.
