hi everyone i am back, it went well, i didnt get to talk to my uro but my mom did and she said that everything went fine he didnt see anything? IDK im going to have to talk to him when he calls to check on me. the first three times i peed after i left the hospital there was alot of blood. but the third time it was ok, hurt pretty bad for about an hour or two after but i took my meds and feel pretty good right now going to go take a bath and rest a while.. ty all for the prayers..

yes i was just about to send you a pm it wasnt bad at all but you do feel like you are peeing glass afterwards its been almost 5 hours and i still feel like im peeing glass, pretty sore but they asked me before the procedure if i was in pain and i said yes so they gave me a percocet and then vercet (happy drug) lol and then fentynal while i was asleep so i wasnt in pain until 2 hours ago but i could feel my bladder burning and sore right after i woke up but they gave me bladder spasm meds (stuff makes you pee blue) and my lortab 10 so im doing pretty good right now kinda loopy lol hope everything goes as good or better for you tommorrow i will be thinking of you and praying... please give an update after you get home so we know everythings good. :) ty all

oh and forgot to say I got my RX card in the mail today for my elmiron so i can start taking that again!! :) so all in all a pretty good day...

Dear Windchaser,
A word from the wise: Do not stop your pain management drugs!!! I know from personal experience, I thought I was doing really well (aside from all the things you are also experiencing with blood in urine, peeing glass feeling, etc) and I thought "no biggie, I can stop the loopy drugs now"... BIG mistake!

I recommend you take whatever the doctor gave you RELIGIOUSLY for the first few days... take the rest so you don't spiral into a flare, as coming out of it might be more difficult than preventing it.

Just a suggestion.

My prayers are with you girl, keep us posted, you are not alone. You will never be alone in this disease again now that you found the boards! :smile tee

well update, today is the day after my hydro/cysto and the pain isnt as bad as i thought it would be but it is there so i just took my lortab and should be feeling a little better soon, my son is going to stay with my sister and her daughter for a couple of days im going to miss him but will be nice to have some time to rest.. RWADE i hope your procedure goes well today i will be praying for you.... :)

I haven't been on much lately so I'm sorry I didn't see this before your hydro. I'm happy it went well and you're not feeling too bad. It took me about a week until I felt back to my normal symptoms. I'm really glad that your son is at your sisters. It really is important to get lots of rest after a hydro. I have read that some people recover very quickly but I couldn't do much without feeling totally wiped out for that first week. I hope it gives you some relief in the long run once the post-op symptoms go away. :grouphug:

I had my hydro/cysto 2 weeks ago and I went and worked out for the first time in about 3 weeks today! I feel really good better than before the surgery and am not on any meds for the most part. There is a burning when I empty my bladder but it is slowly going away! I took my meds up until three days ago as I had "symptoms" if I didn't.

Offering a bit of hope..really felt improvement after 1st week, second week just kept getting better! I rested and took care of myself and it paid off! My prayers go out to you for a quick recovery! :pray:

ty very much idk really how it would be with out my pain meds and pyridium. I had to take 1 1/2 of my pain meds to get rid of the sharp pain and peeing glass feeling, but now i feel pretty loopy now. lol i am praying that it helps

You are very welcome! I know what you mean..lol. I was right there with you a couple of weeks ago. I swear now my only real impariment is that I cannot remember how to spell..lol!

Hang in there, you will see improvement every day! Be sure to rest as much as possible. Plus, I used to get up and walk around a little bit everyday for about 30 minutes to hour (I didn't push myself until I was sore) it seemed to help me sleep better at night. Other than that I rested, watched tons of movies..lol, ate well and started feeling much better.

You are on the road to recovery! :angel:

I had my first hydro done yesterday.

It went pretty well. It was done and over with before I knew it. I went in at 10am and was able to go home by 1:30.

I'm feeling pretty good today, though there is pressure in my bladder/uretha, like I need to urinate, whether I have to or not. It hurts some to urinate, but not unbearable. That sort of strange "knifing" feeling when emptying your bladder. Definetly sort of that "peeing glass" feeling! LOL!

I'm taking Vicodin, and also some OTC AZO (Ok'd by the dr). I havent had any bleeding. They did a biopsy to.

I'm very glad to have had it done. I'll go back for an appt and they'll be able to tell me more then, but I'm glad to have this information from it now.

I have to get my son up and off to school tomorrow and friday at 7am, but I plan to take it easy the rest of the day those days.

They took some photos. Mine doesnt look nearly as red and inflammed as some I've seen posted. I wonder though if thats because I've already been on Elmiron and Vistaril for over 2 years? The uro did tell my husband I have a very small bladder capacity.
