I had my nerve block today

I had a caudal nerve block today. Right above my butt crack. I had sedation, but didn't feel like it was enough. Still felt the whole thing, next week is my second one. My ballder is not hurting, but my back is so sore.

I had a nerve block yesterday also. My experience sounds just like yours. He said I would have to do it A couple of times to really work> Good luck to us!!

My next one is on wednesday. The nerve block has cause my blood sugar to go up. Went to the ER, and was told that was a rare sideeffect. I just hope my doctor will finish the next two blocks. I got a feeling she might not want to do them now.

It has been around the 300's, but I also been avoiding sugar. The doctor in the ER said I might did to be tested for diabetis. I am 28 years old, young but am alittle overweight.

You do need to be checked to see if you're diabetic. You might want to do a search for American Diabetes Association to do a little research.

I never have heard of a nerve block making your sugar go high. Yes if diabetics get stressed when having surgery their surgeries to tend to go higher then the normal for them. That is correct for some pt's. A blood sugar over 300 you most definatetly should be calling for an md appt yesterday. Vicky

Blood sugar staying normal now. I did have tons of sweet tea the day of the shots. Now, I am in a big flare! My bladder is going crazy.
