I really hate to complain because I know we are all suffering on this board BUT I am so tired of seeing doctor after doctor and going no where!! I just wish for one day a doctor had to live with the pain, constant peeing, and lack of sleep that I have for so long. I really don't wish this on ANYONE BUT I start out with a doctor and I show them the list of things I have tried, all the meds I have tried and they think they can help me and in a couple months they just give up. I am so tired of wasting the little bit of energy I have on doctors that just don't get it. Will I ever be able to sleep for more than 20 minutes at time again? I would do anything in this world to make things get better. I am constantly searching for doctors or ideas to help me get better.
Thanks for listening.....sorry to complain but I just am so frustrated.
Take care

Zippy,
I am so sorry that you are having such a horrible time. You have the right to complain like the rest of us. Sometimes we just need the release of saying how crappy everything is. Look at how many threads I have started lately about all the problems I have been having and I have received nothing but support and you will too.
I do have a lot of pain but I am very lucky and don't have the problems with getting up to pee all night long like you do. Dummy me used to take my blood pressure med with a water pill in it at night because I took all of my meds at night and I could never remember to take it in the morning. The nurse at my specialists office almost hit me over the head and said, "hello! you have to take that in the morning so your body has time to pee the water out and you're not up all night peeing." Since I have switched to taking the med in the morning it has helped alot. I am by no means saying this is your problem, I guess I'm just rambling as usual, I'm good at that. Now I get up maybe once or twice a night but that's not every night anymore because sometimes I'm so tired my body doesn't wake me up until my bladder is way too full and in tons of pain.
I guess my point here even though I'm writing a book is that I totally feel for you. I don't know how I would even get off of the couch or out of bed at all all day if I could only sleep twenty minutes at a time. I wish that I could wave a magic wand and take it away so that you could get a good nights sleep every night. You have been very kind to me lately with the mess of problems that I have been having and I just want you to know that we are all here for you, including me of course. If you ever need to talk, PM me, we may not be in the exact same place with our IC but even though I talk alot I can also be a good listener. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry Zippy that you are feeling so frustrated. Do you have good health in insurance? I just keep looking until I come across someone who is willing to take on all of my challenges. I ask them right upfront the first time I see them. It helps with the wasting time thing. Some of my best Doctors are not near me. I have to travel to get to them. It sucks but it's worth it. I wonder if you may find someone out of your area. Have you checked the ICN physician listing for Doctors that you could possibly try?

I know your pain and frustration! I get tired of doctors not knowing what to do! Seems like alot of people on this board are better at suggestions than the doctors!! I'm not saying to ignore your doctors.... maybe you can make a list on here of what meds or things you have tried. So many people chime in with new suggestions all the time. There are also alot of alternative stuff that maybe you can try. I would have never believed in some of those things a few years ago but now I get needles put in me every week and take chinese herbs!!! I know for me personally, I had to take high dosages of ditropan to get that constant urge to pee feeling to finally go away. I still usually have just a bit of that feeling in the background, but I can sleep pretty good most nights. I had seen suffering terribly with urethral burning and just last month I started Librax which in now my miracle drug. I honestly believed I was at the end of my rope as to what to do anymore. Let us know what you have tried, and I think you'll probably get some good responses and fresh ideas and encouragement.

I honestly have tried every bladder drug listed. I can write a book about every thing I have tried over time. My primary doctor who knows NOTHING about IC and I bring him information each month from this website tries everything I bring him. I can make a list of the treatments and the meds I have all tried and see what you guys think.
Thanks for the ideas.

Right now I do have insurance through COBRA BUT I do not know how much longer I can afford to pay for it. It is crazy what it costs and the thing is I would do anything do be able to work. I have contacted several doctors listed on the IC network and there aren't any in my state that take my insurance so I have been looking out of state but at this point I can't afford to fly anywhere right now.
I WILL KEEP TRYING. It just gets frustrating.
Thank you for listening!!
