I wanted to jump on here and say that I went back on the cymbalta Satuday morning. Had to because I was in so much pain with the bladder, body aching and I was so weak I coudln't even knit. Then Sunday evening I was playing with the cats and a few times on and off I had no body pain at all. The bladder was fine. Didn't feel irrated or that I had to pee. My whole body was normal. It sure was weird. I have also lost 2 pounds of the 7 I gained. Maybe my body did just need to get used to it. Do have to stick with the 30 mgs. The 20 mgs was not enough. Mind wise is still the same but imagine it will take time for that. Been 10 years in the making so can't expect it to be fine over night.

That is good to hear. If you will just give your body some time to adjust to all of the meds you may feel better. It just takes time. Your weight may be up and down a little but that is just one of those things. You have to help heal your body and mind, the rest can come later.

Hang in there!:)

I may try cymbalta again. I was on 20mg and I thought it gave me some urinary retention. You are on 30mg ? I asked about the terrible withdrawal I have read on the internet from cymbalts no different then paxil etc. The pscy MD said don't ever wean anything without me helping you.

I to have been on Cymbalta for two of three weeks. Along with starting Lyrica.I Have hade one flare in that time!!!!!! I feel wonderful, and I am not hungry as aften (side effect of Cymbalta, but not lyrica) It took a while to get my dosage ajusted, All I ever wanted to do was sleep those first few weeks-and I slept HARD, and all day. So I think we have that figured out. And, none of this help was from my uro. It was my gyno, and pain management doc. I have decided that in the past two months, the two Doc have been moe helpful than my uro has been in 6 years!!!!

I Tried cymbalta a year ago the lowest dose 20mg and had urinary retention.
I want to try it again and see if the retention is back or not. How many mg's did you start on and it made you sleepy. So did you take the cymbalta at night. I asked about the terrible withdrawal symptoms people have experienced the pscy md says you don't go off anything or wean without me helping you !! Glad cymbalta is helping you. I have a great old school uro he would say have your family md right it or he would write me the first script to get going. Vicky

I do take mine at night. I am not sure if it helps. I try to take it earlier in the night. I have wrote before thatI also take lyrica 50 mg 2x a day. It helps with my fibro pain WONDERFULY. Even with pain not being the issue, some days I have all the energy in the world, and some days I am lucky to stay awake 3/4 hours. I can't figure that part out?

Mary,

I'm glad your trying it again and with great results. I have been on it now for about 3 weeks. I'm up to 60mgs now. And it has been helping! Do you take it at night? One thing I've noticed is I'm having a hard time going to sleep? Anyway, I hope that gets better.

God Bless,

Glad it is helping you too. I have a hard time sleeping as well. Even with the hydroxyzine and talk about nightmares. I take mine first thing in the morning. That way I have some energy the rest of the day. Have noticed I don't get so tired so fast. I have a long way before I make it to 60 mgs. What did you start out on?
