Are there any side effects to Prelief? I want to try it, especially if it helps with IC and IBS. Does it also help with food allergies? (not the asthma part?) Thanks, Jen <img src="graemlins/hat.gif" border="0" alt="[hat]" />

I had problems with the Prelief causing severe constipation and had to stop taking it.

Jen,

Prelief caused severe urgency for me but we are all different and I had end stage refractory IC, so you may not want to worry about it for yourself. I was just a really abnormal IC patient.

I hope it works for you. It's definetely worth a try. I know TONS of people who love it and swear by it that it helps them to a great extent with food!!!

Take Care,

Kara

The way Prelief acts is to neutralize the acid in foods. I use both the tablets and the granulated --- when I have my morning cup of coffee (which Prelief makes possible for me), I use the granules directly in the coffee. I carry a bottle of tablets in my purse so if I'm away from home I can take a couple before I eat.

I have heard that it's possible to be constipated if you take a lot of it. It hasn't caused a problem for me.

One good thing --- if you contact the company --- there's a link at the top of this page --- they will send you some samples so you can give it a try.
