View Full Version : I "sleepdialed" on Elavil
I've been on 20 mgs of Elavil for one month. After 2-3 weeks of being extremely drowsy/high/sleeping very hard, I seem to have adjusted to the medication. I feel less spacey during the day, but I still enjoy the benefits of a good night's sleep.
Last night, though, I apparently called a friend in my sleep and have NO RECOLLECTION of doing that. My call log confirms that it happened.
Has anyone experienced anything like this -- sleep disturbances or blackouts, etc. on Elavil?

I did the week they increased me to 75mg. Yes. I weaned myself back down to 50mg as my feet got so swollen as well. I do that with ambien that's why I don't take it for safety reasons. You better call your MD today and tell them what happened that is not safe. They may want to cut you back to 10mg.
Give them a call. Maybe it is something you get used to and it goes away don't know you MD will. I have some good ambien stories . VIcky

I had bizarre dreams on Elavil, but that did get better. I didn't sleep walk or anything like that though. It's a good thing too because I have one doozy of a staircase in my house. That's why I won't try Ambien.

Not a blackout, but I was hungover from it for weeks. I had to cut a 10mg tab in half & still hads some issues for a while. Eventually, I adjusted & it really became helpful. Going off of it to go through fertility treatments was really rough. Not only did I sleep better, but I think it lessened my frequency a bit during the day. Although, diet was still a large concern. Benadryl just isn't the same.

Very smart with a staircase like that. My downfall was getting on line and ordering things. Packages would arrive from UPS there would be bath and body, ebay oh another one for me is QVC. After my hydros they give me vicodin atleast one time in my every six month hydro while taking vicodin before bed I would order something from qvc. The girls at work would just laugh. Some of it were nice diamonique earrings for me. Other things I ordered for my brother in Indy he would say this is stupid and send it back.
Oh yes I am no longer on ambien as my insurance won't pay for it. QvC I don't watch it anymore now that I am on SS disability........... When you are working fulltime you can watch and buy QVC being on SS you have to adjust lifestyles. I know it is something stupid but it had been very hard for me to go from being single working full time to being single on SS. Part of my therapy. Part of learning materialistic things are just that. Vicky

OMG!!! How crazy is that? I can't imagine what you sent your brother!!! My husband actually fell down our stairs a couple of weeks ago and bruised himself pretty bad. In the next house we are looking at a split level or Ranch. No more steep stairs. My bladder doesn't like them much either!!!! Here's to a peaceful, restful, pain free, crazy dream free night!!!

I sent him some stupid battery charger thing for the car. He did not like it. Funny I sent me Dad one and he loves it- he takes it to Florida every year.
Did I tell you that both my brother and his wife work for IPD well now the metro IPD and county bs merger?
13 years ago Indy was one of the safest 13 cities to live in . Today 13 years later my brother on the force says Indys' crime is like up 48%. Indy is getting bad for crime. They are real manpower short with the merger. It gave them bigger broader areas to cover and their backup is no miles and many minutes away. My Brother works a rough district of Indy . His wife got a better district. From what I can tell east, west and parts of north Indy are the real crime areas
You live in Noblesville so you are North of all of the city crimes. Carmel is nice also. Carmel reminds me of the city I live in now in Michigan.
I pray everyday many times a day when I know that my brother and his wife are on duty. vicky
