Another prelief question

I have been able to use prelief in order to enjoy some of my favorite foods in the past when I wasn't in a bad flare and it has kept me out of a flare. My question is, am I able to use it when I am in a bad flare, or does this prevent the bladder from healing. Tough question, I know, but I am planning for a weekend visit to my Grandmothers and having to turn down all her treats will be hard. Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this one! :)

Dear Melissa:

Prelief should not prevent the bladder from healing; Prelief will take the acid out of the food so that the bladder is not further irritated.

I read somewhere that you should take prelief before every meal, even if the meal isn't on the list of ic no-no's. Is that the best strategy or is it best to use it only with foods that ordinarily would be bothersome?
