I got my haircut on Saturday and I really really love it!

I need to buy a straightening iron for my hair to get it to look the way that I want it to look. I know that different ones do better than others. I dont really want to spend more than $40 if I can help it. I wont use it every day. My hair is right at chin length and is kinda thick. My stylist did a good job with the razor to thin it out.

I posted a pic on my myspace page with my two bf's and me. (Im on the left). Im going to post the same pic in my signature on this site sometime tomorrow.

So can anyone recommend a straightening iron and tell me where I might find it?

Thanks

Kim,
The best in my opinion is the Chi. It makes your hair feel like silk. But they are more costly. Doms mom is a hairstylest and that is what she uses on me. I love it! But like I said more on the expensive side.

I do not know of any others maybe someone else will chime in..

You can find decent quality straightening irons at any Sally Beauty Supply.

Yup,
I was going to say what dg said, if you have a Sally's near you that's a great place to get one at a decent price. I actually bought one at the salon that did my new hair cut because I loved my hair when the woman used the flat iron and had to have one. I know I spent more than $40 but I couldn't even tell you the brand. The hair stylist just told me that you want to make sure you get one that has ceremic plates or it won't do as good of a job as what you got at the salon. I think I spent $50 or $60 on mine right there at the salon. I'm like you and don't do mine every day, only if I have an appointment or we're going out somewhere, not just to be around the house or running errands. Even paying that much it was totally worth it because it works so great. I always feel so much prettier after I use it and get my hair all styled.

Thank you! Thats very sweet! My stylist has told me about the CHI. She told me I could find it for about $40 on ebay, but in my limited searches, I havent found one for that price yet.

We do have a Sally here near where I work. I might head over there and check it out my next payday. Thanks yall of for your advice! Im clueless when it comes to this stuff:smile tee

I just bought a Conair from Target. It was under $20. My hair is already straight, but I wanted to turn the ends under; I borrowed my daughter's and it worked so well I just had to have one.
