Hello,
Feeling anxiety over surgery but looking forward to relief! It seems ridiculous to worry about but I still am worried about recovery time...

I hope it all goes well for you. I think we all get nervous when we have to have any procedure done but it will be o.k. I will be thinking of you and I will say a little prayer too
Let us know how you are doing o.k.? :hi:
Thank you Bessie ..I will!

I agree everybody is nervous beforehand. I know I was. Mine turned out fine, took me about a week to recover and for me I didn't get any relief but at least I knew for sure that I did in fact have IC. Good luck and as Bessie said, let us know how it goes!

I've had lots of hydrodistentions and I'm still nervous every time. I think it's a natural reaction to be concerned about having any surgical procedure. I hope you find it gives you some relief.

I just had my third hydro in a year and a half. I was dreading the fact that it was scheduled for a Monday. I just started a new job and planned to return to work on Thursday, but in the back of my head I was afraid I wouldn't feel up to it. I was fine within a few days and could have gone back to work on Wednesday if I had to. I've been having fairly regular hydro's since 1992 and I am still always nervous beforehand. I hope everything goes well, and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Thanks for the reassurance, you  made me feel much better!:woohoo:
I am so nervous as I have had 4 interviews setup the day I found out I was going to have the cysto/hydro..I have been waiting for months for the job market to pick up. Plus, I don't want to have to try to hide I am too sick to work full time as I really have no choice. I have three boys 18, 16 and 14 who need me to be healthy as possible and to be employed full time. :)

mbe-good luck! it was really worth it to me to have the diagnosis, even though i didn't really get relief from the hydro...some people do though!
recovery time wasn't quite as bad as i had anticipated-the first 2 days were the roughest for me, felt like i was peeing razor blades at first when the numbing agent wore off :( but some ibuprofen helped, along with the diet and lots of fluids!

I am scheduled for my 1st scope w/hydro in a couple of weeks. I am also very nervous about it. I completely understand your anxiety. Part of me just wishes it would get here and the other part hopes it never comes.... Hang in there and know that you are not alone in all of this.

Talk about nervous...You should have seen me. I was a maniac. Oh, and let's not talk about how I was the day of the c/h. Now that was quite a show I put on for the surgery staff. :loco: :lmao:
I was pretty much back to my normal self the day after.
Anyway...Both of you will do fine and then you will have some answers. That's the best part of the whole thing...Answers!!!!

I remember my 2nd one, my doctor gave me something to calm me. I was much like Sharon described on the first one. During the 2nd one, My husband said I was wearing that little blue thing that you are supposed to rest your neck on during the proceedure on my head. He saw me when they were taking me into surgery. I guess I put on another show! LOL! I remember making a comment about it being cold, and then waking up telling the nurses that were "just standing around" that my cath was supposed to be out before they woke me up (which it was). Like another poster said, have some movies ready to watch and get all the rest you can.

Good luck to you. I have mine scheduled for March 11. I'm nervous to, but am almost looking forward to having some real answers, I guess. I had an
in-office cysto done almost 3 years ago, but not this kind - distention under general ansthesia - before.
I'm hoping this gives the drs some answers and helps them provide the best treatment for my IC.
